Glossary Term

Average Ticket

The average amount a client spends in a single transaction across services, retail, or both.

Definition

Average ticket is the average dollar amount attached to one completed guest transaction. It helps owners understand how pricing, add-ons, retail, and service mix affect revenue quality.

Example

If a spa serves 300 tickets in a month and collects $27,000, the average ticket is $90.

Why It Matters

Average ticket is more useful when broken apart by service family, provider, and new versus repeat guests. A rising average ticket can still hide weak retention or discount dependence.
