Glossary Term

Service Utilization

The share of available treatment capacity that is actually booked and delivered.

Definition

Service utilization measures how much of a spa's available service time becomes real delivered revenue. It is a core operating signal because it ties demand to room use and provider time.

Example

If a spa has 500 bookable service hours and delivers 350, utilization is 70 percent.

Why It Matters

Utilization should be interpreted with context. A very high number can still hide team burnout or poor schedule quality if the business has not protected recovery time and service standards.
